IWV does not publish prices, because two clinics asking for “a dental x-ray” rarely need the same system. Here is what changes the number, so you can compare quotes on the same terms.
1. The generator: handheld, wall-mount or mobile
A handheld generator such as the Image-Vet FleXX has no installation cost at all. A wall-mount unit such as the Image-Vet ISDC adds installation by a certified installer, paid by the purchaser, and when it replaces an old unit, the cost of removing and disposing of that one. The Image-Vet ISDC is also available in a mobile model.
2. The sensor: how many, which sizes
EVA Vet Select II comes in sizes 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0. The sizes you choose, and whether more than one room needs a sensor, change the number.
3. Software licensing
Every new EVA Vet Select II includes ViewAll 5.0 licensed for up to 7 workstations, so ask any vendor how many seats are included and what each additional one costs.
4. The computer
You can run ViewAll on a suitable Windows computer you already own, or add the IWV acquisition laptop configured for it.
5. Installation, training and room prep
Ask whether installation and training are included in a quote, who performs them, and whether the warranty depends on an authorized installer. IWV’s does.
6. Support after the warranty
Ask what technical support costs once the warranty ends, and whether you must buy storage or cloud services to keep access to your images. Every new EVA Vet Select II includes free lifetime remote diagnostic services and online tech support.
What lowers the cost
- Trade-in. IWV offers trade-in and trade-up incentives on film, CR and older sensors.
- One source. The FleXX Digital Imaging Bundle combines generator, sensor, software and laptop, and removes installation entirely.
- The work you are missing. Radiographs reveal treatment the oral exam does not. In UC Davis studies, full-mouth radiographs yielded additional or clinically essential information in 72.6% of dogs and 86.1% of cats with clinical lesions.
