How to choose veterinary DR
Start with the room. Keeping a compatible existing table can lower the out-of-pocket investment when going digital. The IWV FP flat panel works with most existing tables, and the IWV CR eco works with your current x-ray table. If you are building or replacing the room, System X delivers table, generator, detector and workstation as one installed system.
Then count the minutes. CR processes a plate in about 30 seconds after you carry the cassette to the reader. System X shows the image in 2 to 5 seconds and the IWV FP captures in 3 to 5 seconds, so retakes happen while the patient is still positioned and under anesthesia for less time.
Check the power. System X runs on a dedicated 110 V, 20 A circuit. Compared with competing 220 V systems, System X saves $3,000 to $8,000 or more in electrical installation, per IWV.
Plan for where the patient is. Equine and ambulatory vets need the generator to travel. The Ultra Light portable weighs 25 lb, runs on a battery and works with IWV DR panels, CR cassettes or film.
Insist on one source. IWV does not hand installation, training or support to contractors. When the company that sold the system also installs and supports it, nobody can point at someone else.
